On April 12, WANG Hua, President of KUST, visited the Heng Yuan canteen on the Chenggong Campus and talked with students dining there about their campus life and study. He solicited and listened to students’ opinions and suggestions on catering services as well as the pandemic prevention and control work of KUST.

President WANG Hua elaborated on the pandemic situation in China and Kunming as well as the relevant prevention and control measures that KUST has taken. He also expressed his affirmation and gratitude to students for their understanding and support of KUST’s pandemic-related work. He pointed out that KUST was following national and provincial pandemic requirements and ensuring the health of staff and students, in addition to the security of the campus. Furthermore, he emphasized how KUST has taken strong protective measures to meet the needs of staff and students in study and daily life through offering a good learning and living environment. Regarding logistic service, he shared how KUST has also undertaken various measures to address students’concerns about catering, such as enriching canteen dishes, improving the quality of meals, and offering a better dining environment. All in all, he shared how KUST will continue to strive to meet the diversified needs of students for catering.

WANG hoped that students could continue to raise their awareness of personal protection and monitor their health conditions in order to comply with the normalization of the epidemic prevention and control work. He also desires students to keep a positive attitude, follow the disciplines, maintain physical and mental health, all while making full use of their time to study harder in living up to the expectations of the times. He affirmed that KUST would organize a series of recreational and sports activities to enrich students’ extracurricular life. He also hoped that students could join in these activities and show their talents.
WANG was also concerned about the employment of students after graduation. In the face of the current complex and severe employment situation, he encouraged students, with a long-term perspective, to actively enroll in graduate school to further enhance their market value, expand their employment opportunities and improve their ability to do research and serve society.
The students expressed their gratitude to president WANG Hua for his concern. They showed their understanding of the prevention measures and their willingness to abide by them. Additionally, they promised that they would live their campus life with a positive attitude for a brighter future.
