On the morning of July 29, the International Summer Camp on Low-Carbon Metallurgy and Green Energy, hosted by Kunming University of Science and Technology, concluded at the Wu Jicheng Auditorium. Representatives and faculty members from the Faculty of Metallurgical and Energy Engineering, along with 22 teachers, students, and scholars from Laos and Vietnam, participated in the event.

During the closing ceremony, representatives of the participants from Laos and Vietnam delivered speeches, sharing their profound reflections on the summer camp experience. The participants expressed that through systematic learning from six cutting-edge lectures on vacuum metallurgy, non-conventional metallurgy, and new energy technologies, they had deepened their professional understanding of the fields of low-carbon metallurgy and green energy. By visiting eight leading industry enterprises, including Sino-Platinum Metals Co., Ltd., Yunnan Aluminum Co., Ltd., Kunding Technology Co., Ltd., Yunnan Titanium Industry Co., Ltd., Qujing DeFang Nanotechnology Co., Ltd., Yunnan Chihong Zinc & Germanium Co., Ltd., Yunnan Copper Co., Ltd., and Yunnan Tin Co., Ltd., they gained firsthand insight into the innovative practices of Yunnan Province as a green energy base in the application of low-carbon metallurgy and green energy technologies. Additionally, through visits to cultural landmarks such as the former site of Southwest Associated University and the Army Officer Academy, as well as ecological landscapes like the Stone Forest Karst Landform, they developed a deep understanding of the ecological civilization concept that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" as vividly practiced in Yunnan.

Following the exchange, representatives from the Faculty of Metallurgical and Energy Engineering presented completion certificates to all participants, acknowledging their academic exploration spirit and cross-cultural collaboration skills demonstrated during the summer camp. The faculty also specially presented commemorative gifts with Yunnan characteristics to representatives from Souphanouvong University in Laos and Hanoi University of Mining and Geology in Vietnam, symbolizing the ongoing commitment to deepen cooperation and pursue mutual development in the field of low-carbon metallurgy and green energy among China, Laos, and Vietnam. The event concluded with a cultural performance by Laotian participants, further promoting cultural exchange between the two nations.

The successful hosting of this summer camp has not only strengthened exchanges and cooperation with countries along the Belt and Road in the fields of metallurgy and green energy technology but has also provided an international perspective and innovative momentum for the development of the university's metallurgical engineering discipline.
