On May 27,KUSTand Yunnan Aviation Industry Investment Group（YAIIG）signed a strategic agreement to strengthen their cooperation. WANG Xueqin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of KUST, SHU Hongchun, Vice President of KUST, LI Gang, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of YAIIG, and LUO Jinsheng, Vice President of YAIIG, attended the signing ceremony. Heads of President’s Office, Alumni Work and Social Cooperation Office, Faculty of Civil Aviation and Aeronautics of KUST and leaders of relevant departments of YAIIG participated in the ceremony.

LI Gang, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of YAIIG, thanked KUST for providing talents training and intellectual support for the development of AIIG. He hoped that both sides should work totheir best advantages, implement this agreement and make Yunnan Province stronger and stronger in aviation development. Asan outstandingalumnus of KUST, LIGang also expressed his heartfeltgratitude for hisalma mater and wished it a brighter future.

President WANG Xueqin stressed that the agreement is a new start for the further cooperation between KUST and YAIIG, which will work as a platform for the development of KUST’s education, the improvement of the society and the economy of Yunnan Province by implementing the agreement through joint projects. President WANG invited LI Gang and the other leaders of the YAIIG to visit KUST in return soon.

WANG Xueqin, on behalf of KUST, and LI Gang, on behalf of YAIIG, signed the cooperation agreement, according to which KUST and YAIIG will jointly train high-level professionals in flight technology, maintenance, dispatch, air insurance, aviation logistics, aviation services and many other fields. The two sides will carry out highly engaged scientific research cooperation, establish national and provincial laboratories for plateau aviation disciplines and build bases for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and technology transfer. On top of this, training and communication mechanism for management personnel will be established as an incubator for high-level and versatile management talents in aviation. Through the university-enterprise cooperation, both sides can make full play to their respective strengths to seek common development and mutual benefits. KUST and YAIIG will work jointly to promote the strategy of “strengthening Yunnan Province with well-developed civil aviation industry”, and provide scientific research and talent support for the sustainable, rapid and steady growth of civil aviation in Yunnan Province.

YAIIG is a specialized aviation industry investment group based on Yunnan Airport Group Co., Ltd.. Through the efficient integration and reorganization of Yunnan’s aviation industry resources, YAIIG focuses on the cultivation of an all-round aviation industry chain, including airport construction and operation, civil aviation transportation, air transportation guarantee platform and airport economic development. It will be playing a vital part in the development of Yunnan’s aviation industry and accomplishment of the strategy of “strengthening Yunnan Province through well-developed civil aviation industry”.
