On the morning of May 21, a survey group from Yunnan Provincial Bureau of Statistics and Kunming Municipal Bureau of Statistics visited KUST and investigated the investment in the construction, research and development of the hydropower silicon and hydropower aluminum platform. Vice President SHU Hongchun and Vice President YANG Bin attended the meeting for the survey.

At the meeting, Vice President YANG Bin introduced the industrial status of hydropower silicon and hydropower aluminum and their support for the development of green energy in Yunnan Province. The heads of KUST's Division of Research Administration introduced KUST's achievements in science and technology and the investment in the R & D in recent years. Prof. WEI Kuixian and Prof. YAN Hengwei reported in a detail the construction, scientific research achievements and R & D investment of the hydropower silicon and hydropower aluminum platform respectively.

Yunnan Provincial Government attaches great importance to the "three cards--green energy, green food and healthy living" strategy of green development and the R & D investment of the whole society. Yunnan Provincial Bureau of Statistics and Kunming Municipal Bureau of Statistics are conducting a survey of the R & D investment and the development of production-education-research mode in large-scale enterprises and universities. It is expected through the survey to further the joint cooperation with KUST in strengthening technological innovation, promoting the integration of the production-education-research mode and increasing the R & D investment so as to make greater contributions to the social and economic development of Yunnan Province.
