On May 14th, KUST's School of International Education (SIE) held a meeting for the on-campus international students to enhance their awareness of abiding by the laws and regulations of China and KUST on the COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control, the lawful use of the Internet, safe vehicle-riding, and integrity-maintaining. After the meeting, group games were played by the SIE teachers and the students. The meeting and the games were intended to help the international students psychologically and physically adapt to the living and learning environment on campus during the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic.

Cases of traffic accidents and unlawful use of the Internet were shared with the international students to strengthen their awareness of abiding by the laws and regulations of China and KUST, of sticking to integrity and lawful behaviors, of taking responsibility for the COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control, and of being grateful to the teachers, staff members and other students who are always ready to offer their help.

In order to help the international students alleviate the psychological stress during the COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control, the teachers of SIE designed relaxing and joyful games for them. The students laughed and enjoyed the games very much. They expressed their gratitude to KUST teachers and staff members for their care and concern ever since the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic.

After the game, the deputy dean and a teacher of SIE visited the dormitories of the international students to learn more about their campus life and their online learning and listen for their opinions and suggestions. The deputy dean of SIE patiently answered students’ questions about the KUST’s prevention and control of COVID-19 epidemic. The deputy dean of SIE asked the students to study hard on their online courses, and kindly reminded the international students to keep a healthy life style by doing proper self-protection, keeping dormitory ventilated, maintaining the public kitchens clean, and doing regular physical exercises while learning the online courses.

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, KUST has attached great importance to the education of the on-campus and off-campus international students on abiding by laws and regulations of China and KUST, trying every possible way to strengthen their awareness of being conscientious and grateful, and staying safe and sound during the prevention and control of the epidemic. At different stages of the COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control, corresponding humanistic care activities for the international students were carried out by the SIE. The deputy dean and other teachers of the SIE regularly visited the dormitories weekly, getting to know the living and learning surroundings of international students and solving a variety of difficulties and problems for the international students, thus effectively strengthening the management of COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control for international students in KUST.
