On November 13th, 15 international students in KUST, who are from Thailand, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and other countries, attended the Professionals Collaboration under the Framework of the Belt and Road Initiative of the 6th Yunnan Conference on International Exchange of Professionals (YCIEP).

The event, hosted by the Human Resources and Social Security Department and jointly co-organized by the Education Department of Yunnan Province and the Yunnan Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, was held both physically and virtually. It aims to seek wider exchanges between Yunnan province and countries in South and Southeast Asia, build a communication and cooperation platform for regional talents, and promote regional socio-economic development. Representatives of the International Labour Organisation and heads of the International Cooperation Department under the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of China attended the conference and delivered speeches online, while the consul generals of Malaysia and Myanmar in Kunming partook in the event on site. Three ceremonies were held to celebrate the award of the Provincial International Human Resources Service Industrial Park, the China (Kunming) Pioneer Park for Overseas Students, as well as the signing of eight international cooperation projects.

Participating in YCIEP has given the representatives of the international students in KUST a better understanding of Yunnan, and in particular, a deeper understanding of Yunnan’s efforts to establish human resource-focused international cooperation and measures to attract high-level international talents and build innovation and startup platforms for them.
