In order to promote the construction of the “Double First-Class” University and accelerate the implementation of the “first-class international cooperation and exchange” three-year action plan, from June 5 to 7 a delegation of four members from KUST School of International Education and Graduate School paid a visit to Santiago and Los Ríos, Chile, with the delegation of Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Yunnan Province and enterprises in Yunnan. This visit is also conducive for KUST to utilize and draw on more international resources through multiple channels, promote the integration of, and exchanges among, various cultures, expand the scope of cooperation with overseas high-level universities and institutions, and enhance the abilities of international research cooperation and collaborative innovation.

The delegation conducted exchanges of ideas in various forms including symposiums and conferences with seven universities in Chile, including Metropolitan University of Technology, Austral University of Chile, University of Santo Tomas and San Sebastián University .

Through this activity, the delegation got to know more about the current state of higher education and vocational education in Chile, as well as the Chilean universities’ intention to cooperate. KUST’s discipline advantages, joint talent training and international cooperation projects have also been introduced to Chilean universities, further enhancing mutual understanding and sense of identity, and thus have established a good image of universities in Yunnan Province. Many Chilean universities expressed their willingness to cooperate in the future through teacher and student exchanges, scientific research, international conferences and more.
