To establish a key platform for global peers in the field of power engineering to exchange academic insights and share research achievements, the 3rd IEEE International Conference on Power Science and Technology (ICPST), jointly organized by Kunming University of Science and Technology and IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), was held in Kunming, Yunnan, from May 16 to 18. The conference featured a diverse program, including keynote speeches, invited talks, workshops, parallel thematic sessions, and poster presentations.

With over 420 experts and scholars in attendance, the conference facilitated discussions on critical areas such as next-generation power systems, AI-driven energy solutions, green energy technologies, and smart grid innovations. The collective expertise contributed significantly to the progress of power science, shaping a sustainable energy future. Representing the host institution, Professors Shu Hongchun, Liu Zhijian, and Yang Bo thanked all participants and partners, concluding with a toast to the conference’s success.

Six world-renowned experts delivered keynote presentations, including Prof. Tek Tjing Lie (New Zealand), Prof. Xu Zhao (Hong Kong), and Prof. Yun Wang (USA). The conference awarded 6 outstanding student papers, 5 best papers, and recognized 2 best reviewers, 1 organization, 1 contributor, and 5 young scientists for their exceptional work." Both versions are accurate - the first provides complete details while the second offers a more summarized format suitable for brief reports.

The 3rd IEEE International Conference on Power Science and Technology (ICPST 2025) was successfully organized by the Faculty of Electric Power Engineering at Kunming University of Science and Technology, in collaboration with the School of Automation at Central South University and the School of Automation at China University of Geosciences (Wuhan). The conference received substantial support from prestigious co-organizing institutions including Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Northeast Electric Power University, Guizhou University, the Power Dispatching Automation System and Equipment Testing Department (Nanjing) of China Electric Power Research Institute, Yunnan International Company of China Southern Power Grid, IEEE PES Women in Engineering Committee China, and China Electric Power Research Institute Co., Ltd.

The event was further enhanced by media partnerships with leading academic journals in the field, notably: Protection and Control of Modern Power Systems, Power System Protection and Control, Electric Power Construction, Proceedings of the CSEE, Power System Technology, High Voltage Engineering, Electric Power Information and Communication Technology, CESS Journal of Power and Energy Systems, High Voltage, New Power System, Information Processing in Agriculture, Global Energy Interconnection, Thermal Power Generation, Power Generation Technology, Electric Power, Automation of Electric Power Systems, Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy, Southern Power System Technology, Integrated Smart Energy, Electrical Measurement & Instrumentation, Shandong Electric Power, and Distribution & Utilization.
