I. INTRODUCTION

As one of the events of 6th Yunnan International Talent Exchange Conference, 2021 International Young Scholars Forum, co-organized and hosted by Kunming University of Science and Technology (KUST), is scheduled in Kunming, capital of southwest China’s Yunnan province, from December 22 to 25, 2021. The Forum will be organized in a “twin” format, being both in-person and online. The Symposium will bring together outstanding young scholars from home and aboard to share perspectives, identify common ground, focus topics for potential research and education initiatives, deepen understanding and promote cooperation in an interactive forum. We sincerely invite young scholars to join us and take part in KUST “Double First-rate” construction.

II. QUALIFICATIONS

1. Participantshould be under the age of 40 (born after January 1, 1981) and meet one of the following conditions:

l Having obtained the doctoral degree from accredited overseas universities, or the doctoral degree from Chinese universities with a minimum of two consecutive years of scientific research experience in an overseas institution.

l Winners of “China National Recruitment Program for Young Overseas High-level Talents”, candidates for Top Young Talents of “Special Support Program for High-level Talents”, winners of Young Scholar Program of “China National Recruitment Plan for High-level Talents”, winners of “China National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars”, or excellent young scholars of corresponding level.

l Intending to apply 2022 Young Scholars Program of “China National Recruitment Plan for High-level Talents” through KUST and meet the application qualification.

l Intending to work at KUST or apply for post-doctoral programs at KUST.

IV. FEES

The participants with formal invitations may book round-trip tickets by themselves and the ticket fees will be reimbursed by Kunming University of Science and Technology.

Flight tickets are limited to economy class and high-speed train tickets are limited to second-class seats (The Reimbursed expenses is 5,000 CNY/person).The accommodations and meals will also be covered by the host university.

V. SALARIES AND BENEFITS

1．Patients of National Youth Program of“China National Recruitment Program for Young Overseas High-level Talents”, candidates for Top Young Talents of “Special Support Program for High-level Talents”, winners of Young Scholar Program of “China National Recruitment Plan for High-level Talents”, winners of “China National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars”, or excellent young scholars of corresponding level.

l Annual salary: at a minimum of 0.7 million CNY;

l Position: institution personnel with senior professional title;

l Housing Subsidy：1.5 MillionCNY；

l Spouse who is eligible for the transferring requirements could be transferred and arranged to work at Kunming University of Science and Technology;

l Start-upScientificResearch Funds: 5MillionCNY for the construction of scientific research platform (1MillionCNY for non-experimental science orphilosophy& social sciences), with assistants and laboratories.

2．Other qualified young scholars shall follow the talent policy of Kunming University of Science and Technology.

2．KUST will send formal invitation letters to participantswithin 5 days afterapplicationdeadline.

3．Participants shall fill in the invitations and confirm your attendance within 5 days after receiving the invitation letter.
