On the morning of 15th November, Seminar on Sci-Tech Achievement Transformation and Industry Development in Yunnan and Taiwan was held in the National Science Park of KUST on Lianhua Campus. The seminar attendees included: MA Wenhui, Vice President of KUST, LONG Jiang, former Director General of Yunnan Provincial Science and Technology Department and expert consultant of Yunnan Bio-medicine and General Health Industry Development Promotion Association, SHEN Guolin, former counsel at level 2 of the Taiwan Affairs Office of CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee and President of Yunnan-Taiwan Health Association of Yunnan Bio-medicine and General Health Industry Development Promotion Association, and LIAN Hongqing, executive director of Shuimu Tsinghua Alumni Association and Chairman of Beijing Shangyi Zhiwei Health Management Co., Ltd.
On behalf of KUST, Vice President MA Wenhui welcomed the participants at the meeting, gave an introduction to the recent development of KUST, and expressed his gratitude to Shuimu Tsinghua Alumni Association and Yunnan Bio-medicine and General Health Industry Development Promotion Association for their contribution to the cross-strait economic integration and development and the industry-university-research-application collaborative development in the field of general health in Yunnan. He proposed to make Yunnan-Taiwan Health Association an essential platform with integration of scientific and technological resources for expanding and strengthening the bio-medicine and general health industry, boost the exchange and communication in this field between the two places, promote more transformation of Taiwan’s scientific and research achievements in Yunnan, and jointly make a contribution to the economic and social leapfrog development of Yunnan Province.
SHEN Guolin briefed the original intention and main functions of the Yunnan Transformation Station of Sci-Tech Achievements of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and the Yunnan-Taiwan Health Association. LIAN Hongqing introduced the scientific and technological achievements of Taiwan Shuimu Tsinghua alumnus. Then Yunnan-Taiwan Health Association was unveiled by LONG Jiang, and Yunnan Transformation Station of Sci-Tech Achievements of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan was unveiled by MA Wenhui and LIAN Hongqing.
At the meeting, some agreements were signed, including a memorandum of cooperation among KUST, Research and Development Center of Hangzhou (Taiwan) Shuimu Tsinghua Alumni Association, and Yunnan Bio-medicine and General Health Industry Development Promotion Association, a cooperation agreement on technical application and promotion of all hydrogen products between Research and Development Center of Hangzhou (Taiwan) Shuimu Tsinghua Alumni Association and Yunnan-Taiwan Health Association of Yunnan Bio-medicine and General Health Industry Development Promotion Association, as well as a technology transfer agreement on hypochlorous acid water between Research and Development Center of Hangzhou (Taiwan) Shuimu Tsinghua Alumni Association and Yunnan Jiben Biotechnology Co., Ltd.
In the seminar, the experts present had an in-depth exchange and discussion on the development, technology exchange and cooperation, platform construction, talent training and other aspects of bio-medicine and general health industry.
This seminar was also attended by the heads of related associations, enterprises and departments, including Yunnan Provincial Academy of Science and Technology, Yunnan Association for Science & Technology Cooperation with Foreign Countries, Kunming Association for Taiwanese Businessman, Kunming Association for Female Entrepreneur, Yunnan-Taiwan Health Association, Sinosoft Co., Ltd., Pharmaceutical Investment Co., Ltd. of Yunnan Industrial Investment Group, KUST Division of Overseas Cooperation and Asset Management Co., Ltd..
