On April 20th, Ziemowit Dworakowski, an associate professor from the AGH University of Science and Technology (AGH UST) in Poland, was invited to give a lecture at “Weide Forum” held by the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of KUST. The lecture was entitled “Data Interpretation Challenges in Mechanical Systems Research”. It was attended by over 200 faculty members, researchers, and master’s and doctoral students.

The lecture provided an insightful analysis of the prospects of artificial intelligence in mechanical systems and the developing trends in the field of AI and mechanical systems. The lecture covered the analysis and modeling of manufacturing data through AI technologies such as deep learning to achieve the optimization and intelligent scheduling of production plans. It also talked about how potential equipment failures can be predicted in advance through the monitoring and analysis of equipment data to realize the intelligent equipment maintenance. The atmosphere at the lecture was lively, and the faculty members and students present expressed that they benefited greatly from it.

The lecture was to broaden the international outlook of both teachers and students at KUST and enable them to gain insight into the latest advancements in interdisciplinary fields both domestically and internationally. It plays a positive role in promoting the collaboration and exchange between KUST and AGH UST in Poland.
