On the afternoon of April 20th, a seven-member delegation led by Ricky Ang Lay Kee, Vice President of Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), and Kong Lijuan, Director of the International Affairs Department of the National Institute of Education of Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, visited KUST. Zhou Fengyue, Vice President of KUST, engaged in discussions with the delegation.
Zhou Fengyue presented an overview of KUST and introduced the key disciplines of the university. Additionally, Zhou noted the fast development and impressive progress of SUTD and NTU, and expressed a desire for closer collaboration and deeper exchanges with the two universities. He also hoped that their advanced experience will fuel KUST toward a “Double First-Class” university.
Professor Ricky Ang Lay Kee introduced the background of SUTD, focusing on the specialties of two master’s programs: Sustainable Product Design and Network Security Design. He expressed his expectation for further cooperation with KUST in teacher training, scientific research, student exchanges, and joint master’s programs in the future.
SUTD is the fourth public university in Singapore and boasts a highly competent faculty team, with 29% of its staff listed in the World’s Top 2% Scientists 2022. The university also ranks highly on the global ranking list of emerging engineering universities.
The heads of the Division of International Cooperation, Faculty of Art and Communication, Faculty of Information Engineering and Automation, Graduate School, Division of Personnel, and Division of Research Administration attended the discussion.
