From May 22nd to 25th, Professor You Qiang from the Department of Physics of the University of Idaho visited the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Mechanics of KUST. During his visit, the professor provided a series of short-term lessons for the students majoring in Civil Engineering (Chinese-Foreign cooperation) and had face-to-face communication with them.

On the afternoon of the 25th, Professor You Qiang delivered an academic lecture entitled “Nano-Watermelon: Synthesis, Nanostructure, Nanomagnetism, and Applications” at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Mechanics. During the lecture, he elaborated on the magnetic and optical properties of nanomaterials and introduced the application of magnetic nanomaterials to the fields of energy, environment, and biomedicine. The lecture not only allowed the students to gain a profound understanding of the related research and application of nanomaterials but also broadened their horizons and enlightened them on their future academic pursuits.
Professor You Qiang is a tenured professor of the Department of Physics and a professor of Nuclear Engineering at the University of Idaho in the United States. He is the current chairman, a tenured fellow of the Idaho Academy of Science and Engineering, and the director of the Nanophysics and Nanomaterials Laboratory of the University of Idaho. He has published more than 126 papers and four monographs.
