Recently, the 48th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva (IEIG) was held in Geneva, Switzerland. The patent Rare-earth Tantalate Ultra-High Temperature Thermal Barrier Coatings and Technologies developed by the Faculty of Material Science and Engineering, KUST, was presented at the Exhibition and won a gold medal.
Founded in 1973 and co-organized by the Swiss Federal Government, the Geneva State Government, the Geneva City Government, and the World Intellectual Property Organization, IEIG is one of the world’s largest invention exhibitions with the longest history. The 48th Exhibition was scheduled to be held in 2020, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It showcased more than 1,000 inventions from over 40 countries, with participating inventors, universities, institutions, and enterprises reaching a record high.
