On March 21st, a delegation of four, including Joël Cuny, President of Ecole Spéciale des Travaux Publics, du Bâtiment et de l’ Industrie (ESTP), visited Kunming University of Science and Technology (KUST). Yi Jianhong, Vice President of KUST, with the heads of relevant departments and faculties engaged in the discussion with the delegation.
During the discussion, Yi Jianhong first extended a warm welcome to Cuny and his delegation, and gave a general overview of KUST and its teaching and research achievements, as well as the current international exchanges and cooperation. He also reviewed the friendly history of educational exchanges between KUST and ESTP, and expressed his great expectations for future collaboration.

Ms. Huisman, the Director of International Relations at ESTP, also presented the teaching and research strengths of ESTP in the field of civil engineering to the attending teachers. Subsequently, both sides had in-depth discussions on faculty and students exchange, cooperation in education and joint training, and looked forward to the broad prospects of collaboration.
Yi Jianhong emphasized that KUST attached great importance to its cooperation with ESTP and hoped that this visit would further deepen the exchanges and cooperation in various fields between the two sides, and jointly promote the development of higher education in China and France.
While visiting, President Cuny and his delegation also toured the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute of Yunnan Province (EERIY) and the Raw Earth Construction Center at KUST, and highly praised KUST’s scientific research abilities and achievements in relevant fields.
ESTP, established in 1892, is a private non-profit university. It is one of the 224 engineering universities accredited by Commission des Titres d’ Ingénieur (CTI) and its civil engineering programme is ranked first in France.
