On May 22nd, Dr. Samuel Herman Heikinen, the Vice President of the Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania (SRU), led a delegation to visit KUST for exchanges. Yi Jianhong, Vice President of KUST, along with heads of the Division of International Cooperation, the Faculty of Public Safety and Emergency Management, and the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Mechanics, attended the meeting.
Yi JianHong warmly welcomed Dr. Samuel Herman Heikinen and his delegation on behalf of KUST, emphasizing that KUST has always attached great importance to international exchanges and cooperation, and is committed to establishing and developing collaborations with universities around the world. KUST has been keenly interested in the high-quality education offered by SRU and has been striving to pursue deeper cooperation with SRU, a prestigious institution in northern United States. This cooperation fair marks the second exchange meeting between the two universities, and we anticipate further collaboration in areas such as joint Chinese-foreign educational programs, mutual visits and exchanges, collaborative research, and cultural exchanges, based on our previous exchanges. Together, we aim to foster international educational distinctiveness and enhance the internationalization of both institutions.

Dr. Samuel Herman Heikinen, representing SRU, briefly introduced the university's strengths in discipline construction, advantageous majors, student enrollment, student training programmes, and international exchanges and cooperation. He further expressed SRU's intention to collaborate with KUST.
Heads of the Division of International Cooperation, the Faculty of Public Safety and Emergency Management, and the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Mechanics discussed potential majors for joint educational programs between the two sides. Both sides concurred on jointly selecting majors to initiate feasible and appealing collaboration projects for students. They also set an initial goal of deepening cooperation between the institutions. Following subsequent cooperation, the two sides will collaborate to achieve complementary advantages and mutual benefits.
Located in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania is a public university founded in 1889. SRU is one of the biggest universities in northern United States, with five colleges, including the College of Business, the College of Health Professions, the College of Education, the College of Liberal Arts, and the College of Engineering and Science, involving more than 150 majors. The student population exceeds 8,000 with approximately 6,770 undergraduates and 1,460 graduate students.
